Ann Arbor T heir unique brand of tag-team humor has gotten them far, but comedians Randy and Jason Sklar, who are identical twins, are always up for a home- coming. The University of Michigan graduates returned to their old stomping grounds Oct. 27 to perform at a fundraiser sponsored by the Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor. About 200 people attended the night of "Hilarity and Charity" at Live at PJs. Organizers say the duo drew the largest crowd in the event's five-year history. "They're hilarious!" said Andrew Landau of Ann Arbor, who co-chaired the comedy night with Stephanie Aronow, also of Ann Arbor. "They're two Jews, they went to U-M and they're huge Michigan football fans:' he said. The brothers grew up in St. Louis, but now live in Los Angeles. They've been showcased on HBO, ESPN, Comedy Central and the ABC hit series Grey's Anatomy. They've also appeared in several Seth Glazer of West Bloomfield with Justin Kaplan of Commerce and Kyley Kaplan-Lazor of Saline Seth Kleinglass and Emily Kleinglass, both of Belleville, with Neal Blatt of Ann Arbor movies. The Sklars ping-pong back and forth, finishing each other's sentences like only twins could. Their routine includes Jewish jokes and stories about their childhood and life experiences. "They know each other so well; they're just so fluid and consistent:' said Landau. "You can have one comedian who's funny, but when you put two people together who are both very funny, it just doubles the power of The event helped raise money for the YAD's 2010 Annual Campaign. Landau says despite the challenging economic times, people are pitching in. "I think the message is that now more than ever, people need our support:' he said. "When you can make even a small donation, it goes a long way." Spotted in the comedy night crowd were: Herb Aronow, Rachel Bendit, Mark Bernstein, Susan Fisher, Andy Rudick, Sara Snyder and Eillen Freed, all of Ann Arbor, and Lee Trepeck of Huntington Woods.
