Keren Alpert, Temple Beth El's rab-
binic associate, continues this year's
"Lunar Learn" and "Lunch and Learn"
series with "Jewish Pirates of the
Caribbean." Many early pirates and
explorers of the New World descended
from Jews who had fled Spain follow-
ing the Inquisition. On new shores,
they were happy to find trade and even
happier to attack ships from their for-
