She set up a charity called Sophie's Goal and requested her bat mitzvah guests to donate to support the Charach Cancer Center or Sisters Hope Breast Cancer Retreat Program in lieu of gifts. Madison Leigh Novice, daughter of Fred and Jo-Anne Novice, will be called to the Torah at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Dearborn as she cel- ebrates her bat mitz- Novice vah Saturday, Nov. 7, at a Havdalah service. Brandon attends Edgewood Middle School in Highland Park, Ill. One of his mitzvah projects was volunteering at the Uptown Cafe in Chicago, helping serve meals to the needy.
