Here's more on the Bloomfield Township-based Anti-Defamation League's six honorees: • Gary Gilbert grew up in Southfield. He is the founder and president of Gilbert Films, a Los Angeles-based production company. He produced Garden State, Meet Monica Velour, Henry Poole is Here and Margaret. His film, The Kids Are All Right is due out in 2010. • Michael Binder is a Detroit native who attended Camp Tamakwa, which was the basis for his 1993 film Indian Summer. He has written and directed several Detroit-based mov- ies, including Crossing The Bridge and The Upside of Anger. Other credits include Man About Town with Ben Affleck and Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler. • Harry Winer grew up in Detroit and graduated from the University of Michigan. He has directed fea- ture films, including Space Camp and House Arrest, and directed and produced more than 20 films for television. • Harvey Grace has more than 40 years of experience in radio and television production, programming and consulting. He is an entrepre- neur, corporate executive and pri- vate investor. • Bob Brown currently lives in Farmington Hills. He is the manag- ing partner of Purple Rose Films, an independent film company he runs with Chelsea native Jeff Daniels. In 2000, they produced their first fea- ture film Escanaba in Da Moonlight.
