lin and Barry Becker of Stratford,
Ontario, formerly of Huntington
Woods, and Eileen and Richard
Polk of Huntington Woods are delighted to
announce the engagement of their children
Kathryn Mead Becker and Samuel Jeffrey
Polk.
Kate received a B.A. in physics from
Oberlin College in Ohio and an M.S. in
astronomy from Cornell University in
Ithaca, N.Y. She is employed as a researcher
on the science program NOVA at the public
television station WGBH of Boston.
Sam received a B.A. in English and his-
tory from the University of Michigan and
an M.B.A. from Babson College in Wellesley, Mass. He is a recruiter for Hult
International Business School in Boston.
Following a November wedding at the Fort-Shelby Hotel in Detroit, the couple
will reside in Brookline, Mass.

Hartman were recently married at
the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester.
Rabbi Paul Yedwab of Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield officiated.
Jolie is the daughter of Lisa and Bob
Gittleman and Douglas and Ronna Kay.
Richard is the son of Cheri Hartman and
John Hartman.
Maid of honor was Alix Kay, sister of the
bride. Best man was Mike Hartman, brother
of the groom. Ring bearer was Matthew Kay,
brother of the bride. The bridal party includ-
ed Jordyn Goldman, Katie Abrams, Jessie
Abrams, Tracie Scott, Natalie Finerty, Michele Coblin, Alana Siefman, Gabrielle
Hartman, Wendy Levitt, Marley Groskind, Forest Levy, Seth Golden, Andrew
Thav, Ryan Coblin, Craig Simon, Chase Hartman, Jack Jannett, Todd Shatkin,
Kenny Bell, Jamie Ryke, Shay Berger and Derek Howard. They were also honored
to have grandmothers Claire Kay and Yetta Laxer participate in the ceremony.
The couple enjoyed their honeymoon on a Mediterranean cruise, visiting
Spain, France and Italy.
