October 15 • 2009 he DMC Guild awarded Dr. Theodore Schreiber, president of the DMC Cardiovascular Heart Institute, $200,000 at the DMC Guild's annual fundraiser, "Won from the Heart." The award was given to remodel the institute's Cath Lab Four. The dinner hosted 350 doctors, community leaders and supporters of the DMC Guild. The $200,000 award is the largest single gift the DMC Guild has ever awarded. The funds were raised from the DMC Guild's golf outing, casino night and Won From the Heart Dinner events. The DMC Guild began in 1983 as the Hutzel Men's Group. The founding director is former Hutzel Hospital President Frank Iacobell. Carolyn Clifford from Channel 7 News was mistress of ceremony for the evening's program. Honorees were Dr. Schreiber and nine local interventional cardiologists that are part of the Cardio Team One 24- hour team. Cardio Team One, first introduced at Harper University Hospital in March, is a pioneering program for treating heart attacks . to successfully reduce the average "ER door to catherization balloon treatment" time to 39 minutes. Dan Nemes, chair of Harper University Hospital and Hutzel Women's Hospital, received the DMC Guild's first Volunteer of the Year Award for his years as chair of both boards and the main DMC Corporate Board of Directors. i I
