Selichot: 'Open The Gates' "Open the Gates" is the theme of Congregation Beth Ahm's Selichot pro- gram, 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. A frequent prayer metaphor is that Jews ask God to open the gates of for- giveness and mercy to inscribe them in the Book of Life for the upcoming year. Featured at the program will be songs, readings and meditations led by Rabbi Steven Rubenstein and Jewish community educator-songleader Beth Greenapple.
