Congregation Beth ithm in West
Bloomfield will offer lifelong Jewish
learners many free, drop-in oppor-
tunities to prepare for the Days of
Awe by watching lectures on DVD.
All are welcome. No RSVPs needed.
The shul's "Drop-in-and-Learn:
Judaica on DVD" series will add
a Thursday night slot. Showtimes
after Labor Day will be 1 p.m.
Wednesday and 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
From Sept. 9 through Sukkot, the
subject matter will be themes of the
fall holidays. The lineup:
• Wednesday, Sept. 9, and
Thursday, Sept. 10, "Choose Life:
Holy Day Conversations, Part 1";
• Wednesday, Sept. 16, and
Thursday, Sept. 17, "Abraham, Sarah
and Hagar" and "Isaac" (lectures
by Prof. Amy-Jo Levine Vanderbilt
University);
• Wednesday, Sept. 23, and
Thursday, Sept. 24, "Choose Life:
Holy Day Conversations, Part 2";
• Wednesday, Sept. 30, and
Thursday, Oct. 1, "Fall Holidays"
and "The World to Come" (lectures
by Prof. Shai Cherry of Vanderbilt
University;
•Wednesday, Oct. 7, and
Thursday, Oct. 8, "Sukkot: Getting
to the Bottom of the Booth" (lecture
by Rabbi Eric Grossman, head of
school, Frankel Jewish Academy).

The Grosse Pointe Jewish Council
has scheduled High Holiday ser-
vices for Rosh Hashanah and Yom
Kippur.
Led by Cantor Kat Hastings and
Cantorial Soloist Bryant Frank,
the services will celebrate Rosh
Hashanah on the evening of Friday,
Sept. 18, and the morning of
Saturday Sept. 19. Services for Yom
Kippur will be held on the evening
of Sunday, Sept. 27, and throughout
the day Monday, Sept. 28. On both
holidays, there will be children's
services.
The Grosse Pointe Jewish Council
Sunday School is accepting stu-
dents for the fall term. For service
