Adult Bar Mitzvah
Congregation Beth Shalom in Oak
Park will be the setting for the
bat mitzvah of Sharon Glazer of
Southfield, an adult Kadima resi-
dent, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.
Kadima is a Southfield-based resi-
dential and support agency.
"I feel this will fulfill me as a grown
Jewish woman," she told the Jewish
News.
She feels she is on the road to
gaining more responsibility, such as
working at her new position at JVS, a
Southfield-based nonprofit agency.
Glazer, who likes to read world his-
tory, has been studying for her bat
mitzvah since July 2006 with Ronit
Gell of Royal Oak.
Gell is a Hebrew teacher who cre-
ated a bilingual Hebrew-English pro-
gram at Beth Shalom's Gan Shalom
Preschool.
Cantor Sam Greenbaum will offici-
ate at the Glazer bat mitzvah.
