They were among 300 people chilling out at the Jewish Community Center in Oak Park Aug. 9. The facility was set up with an indoor rock climbing wall, bounce houses, a slide, arts and crafts and more during the third annual Community Family Fun Day. "It's the perfect day for it because it's so hot and humid outside:' said Mackay. "It feels great to be inside in the air conditioning." Children ran, jumped, climbed, laughed and played while their parents browsed at a "garage-less" garage sale. About 15 vendors set up shop inside the JCC during the event. "We have about 33 tables," said Joseph Abrin of Oak Park, one of the organizers. "People are selling everything from clothes to video games to boutique stuffy' Yoseff, 4, and Yacov Benyair, 5, of Oak Park Joey Abrin of Oak Park Sam Wolf of West Bloomfield was selling books. Nancy Goldstein of Huntington Woods spent time watching her son Max, 8, reach new heights. "My son has never climbed the wall before:' she said. "He's really enjoying it." There was food for sale from Sara's Glatt Kosher Deli. Participants got into the event free of charge by bringing a donation to Yad Ezra, Michigan's only kosher food pantry in Berkley. "It's a really nice way to bring the community together," said JCC member Lior Halevi of Oak Park. He attended with his wife and children. "The kids need to have some fun in the summertime."
