an increased risk of high
blood pressure, stroke, car-

Risk factors for sleep
apnea include obesity,
male gender, age (40+),
family history, nar-
rowed airways, large
neck circumference, al-
lergies, and alcohol use.

Some nutritional/lifestyle tips:

• Lose weight, if overweight;

• Avoid/minimize your use of al-
cohol, caffeine, or tranquilizers;

• Get treated for food (and other)
allergies or sinus problems;
