Woods-based Ta-

tion with the city of Northville, is to
make a difference now in our local
economy.
To make it official, Gov. Jennifer
Granholm has declared this week
Buy Michigan Week throughout
the state.
The event offers free learn-
ing seminars and panels with a
Michigan twist. Also featured will
be Michigan-based companies,
products, art, services, shopping
and many free activities, including
live concerts, entertainment as well
as meet and greets with Clifford the
Big Red Dog and friends.
A Comedy for Kids Showcase
will be held from 8-10 p.m.
Thursday, July 30, starring Jeff
Dwoskin, Connie Ettinger, Terri
Stearn and other Michigan come-
dians plus the Go Comedy Troupe.
The event is free, but any dona-
tions go to Operation Kid Equip,
a nonprofit that provides school
supplies to children in need.
On Friday, July 31, look for
seminars that help Michiganders
learn about work in entertain-
ment fields, including theater
and the movie industry. For a
complete schedule, go to www.
BuyMichiganNow.com .
Also on Friday, Ta-Dah!
Productions brings its Free and
Fabulous Girls Night Out . . . for a
Cause event to the festival. The idea
was developed with friend and col-
league, Alyssa Cohen, a local event
and marketing professional. This
monthly event has traveled the area,
bringing new consumers to vari-
ous locations while helping worthy
causes. Free to women 21 and older
who love shopping, shmoozing and
