ORT Mission

Fall trip headed to South America.

ORT Argentina encourages students to learn the latest technologies so that
they can compete in the labor market.

N

ext Generation Mission co-
chair Nicole Kovacs of West
Bloomfield, a member of
the national board of ORT America,
announced registration is open for
ORT America's Solidarity Mission to
Argentina and Uruguay from Nov. 9-15.
"I took this posi-
tion because I think
it is important
for people in my
age group to get a
firsthand look at an
ORT school, meet
ORT
students and
co:
understand
how
Nicole Kovacs
far the dollars they
give or raise go," Kovacs said. "That
is how you engage a new generation
and develop a future lay leader, while
also learning the importance of tikkun
olam, repairing the world."

She added, "My experiences on
a recent ORT mission to Warsaw,
Poland, and Israel were eye-opening.
The trip brought me closer to the
organization and understanding the
impact ORT has around the world
and on everyday lives of individuals
who have the hope of succeeding and
becoming self-sufficient!'
Due to the current economy's
affect on the tourism industry, ORT
America has been able to renegotiate
the mission pricing to $2,169, result-
ing in a $430 savings, without com-
promising any element of the five-
star high standard mission model,
Kovacs said.
