Wendy Stein, a student at
Michigan State University in East
Lansing and daughter of Marlene
Stein, was inducted into the
2009-2010 class of Tower Guard,
a sophomore honor and service-
based organization at MSU. As a
member, she will volunteer 120
hours of service to aid students
with visual impairments through
MSU's Resource Center for Persons
with Disabilities.

We think nothing of driving

Fellowships rec-
ognize 18 artists
Avadenka
whose commit-
ment to innova-
tion and artistic achievement are
evident in the quality of their work.
The fellowships recognize creative
vision and commitment to excel-
lence within a wide range of artistic
disciplines, including artists who
have been classically and academi-
cally trained, self-taught artists and
artists whose art forms have been
passed down through cultural and
traditional heritage.

of Auburn Hills
was elected com-
mander for the
Charles Shapiro-
Gen. Maurice
Rose Post of the
Michigan Jewish
George
War Veterans.
Auxiliary President Myra Gross
of West Bloomfield presented the
honor to George, who served in the
Marines as a naval gunner during
the Korean War.

At May 21 commencement exer-
cises at the Jewish Theological
Seminary of America in New
York City, Rebecca Elkus of
West Bloomfield was awarded a
Master of Arts degree from the
William Davidson School of Jewish
Education; Jeremy Pappas of West
Bloomfield was awarded a Bachelor
of Arts degree from the Albert A.
List College of Jewish Studies; and
Josh Wohl of Farmington Hills was
awarded a rabbinic ordination and
Master of Divinity degree from the
Rabbinical School.
