HERMAN RADER,

92, of Highland
Beach, Fla., died at
Hadassah Hospital
on June 11, 2009, in
Jerusalem, Israel.
He was born on July
18, 1916, in Detroit
Rader
and was a graduate of
Central High School.
He was the owner of Rader
Construction Co. and Park Bar Cafe
and was a member of Congregation
Beth Abraham, B'nai B'rith and the
Masons.
Mr. Rader married Rose Klein, daugh-
ter of Freda and Eugene Klein, in 1939,
and they had four children of whom
Lynne passed July 13, 2002, at age 61,
and Dr. Richard, who passed Jan. 30,
1982, at age 33. Mr. Rader's wife, Rose,
passed away Nov.15, 1993, age 74.
Mr. Rader is survived by his children,
Ronald and Deborah (Goldman) and
Donna; beloved grandchildren and
great-grandchildren: Robert and Melissa
Rader, parents of Dashiell and Zora
Rose; Rep. Kevin and Rabbi Amy Rader,
parents of Caleb, Ruby, Yael and Ezra;
Dr. Kerry and Rabbi David Bar-Cohn,
parents of Daniel, Ilan, Ben-Tzion and
Yeshaya; Heather Hoban; Elyse Chaya
Bracha and Rabbi Amichai Zippor; and
Erik Adelson. He is also survived by his
sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty
Klein and Gladys and Charles Brasch.
The family thanks his caregiver,
Albert DeSouza, and all those who cared
for him in his final years.
He was predeceased by his brothers-
in-law, Emil Klein (died May 15, 1977,
age 55), and Louis Klein (died June 9,
1983, age 58).
Mr. Rader leaves wonderful memo-
ries of joy and laughter and the gift of
his unconditional love. He exemplified
Rudyard Kipling's ideal man, equally
comfortable "talking with the crowds
and walking with kings." His huge heart
allowed him to embrace everyone he
touched. His simplicity, warmth, and
legendary zest for life were contagious.
His passions included his family,
friends, work, exercise, eating, reading,
crossword puzzles and watching news
programs. The Raders were legend-
ary hosts and loved the company of
family and friends. Their home on Old
Colony Dr. was their "PinkPalace" where
for years people enjoyed their terrific
hospitality. They opened their home to
numerous Jewish charities.
Mr. Rader was a wonderful husband
and father, who loved and adored his
family. His memory will be cherished
by all who knew him.
Interment at Beth Abraham Cemetery.
