ALVIN HOROWITZ, 86, former
Detroiter of Phoenix, Ariz., died Jan.
12, 2009.
He was a veteran of World War II,
serving in India and Burma.
He is survived by his devoted
children, Stanley Horowitz, Joyce
Lederman and Gail Offenhartz;
daughter-in-law, Barbara Horowitz;
sons-in-law, Howard Lederman and
Marc Offenhartz; loving grandchil-
dren, Philip and his wife Dorothy,
Michael and Sarah Horowitz, Joseph
and his wife, Vida, Miriam and David
Lederman, Joshua and Benjamin
Offenhartz; great-grandchildren,
Moshe and Malka Lederman, Julia
Horowitz; siblings, Jack Horowitz, Saul
Horowitz and Passie Schulman; many
nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews.
He was the beloved husband for 59
years of the late Helen Horowitz,
Internment in Beth El Cemetery in
Phoenix. Contributions may be made
to Congregation Beth El, Phoenix,
Ariz.

MELVYN G. KRAMER, 68, former
Detroiter of Delray Beach, Fla., died
June 3, 2009.
He was a retired steel broker before
moving to Florida and will always be
remembered for his sense of humor
and gentle ways.
He is survived by his loving wife,
Patricia; beloved children, Natalie,
Daniel (Tracy,) Pamela (Alex)
Strouhal, Allan Ferguson, Michael
Ferguson, Sharron (Chuck) Hacker;
grandchildren, Theresa, Melissa,
Lindsy, Allan; great-granddaughter,
Paige.
A memorial service and shivah
will be held 6 p.m. Sunday, June 28,
at Daniel (Tracy) Kramer's residence

Mrs. Levitt was the beloved wife of
the late Harry Levitt; sister of the late

TOBYE WEISS NYDICK, 78, former
Detroiter of Scottsdale, Ariz., died
June 13, 2009, in Phoenix. She was
a lifetime member of Hadassah and
Brandeis.
She is survived by her husband, Ira
Nydick; daughters, Wendy Klein of
Scottsdale and Susan Passin of Los
Angeles, Calif.; her brother, Robert
Mitteldorf of Los Angeles; five grand-
children.
She was preceded in death by her
first husband, Milton Weiss.
Graveside services were held in
Scottsdale. Contributions may be
made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510
E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
