his is my eighth try — my
eighth try to compile so
many emotions, thoughts
and feelings into one concise and
minuscule article — my senior
goodbye. I find it fair to warn you
that I am not a believer in good-
byes; I utterly dislike the word and
the meaning behind it. When you
say goodbye to something, it is as
if you are freely leaving that object
and or person in the past with a
maybe I'll see you eventually feel-
ing." I don't really know what point
I am trying to make besides that
fact that I HATE GOODBYES.
I wonder will the future really
entail such a different rendition
of the past four years? Maybe.
Throughout our lives, we pass
through stages, stages that take
us from place to place, moment
to moment and allow us to live
as beings. Stages such as our first
words, our first steps, kindergar-
ten, bar and bat mitzvah, high
school, driver's licenses, turning 18
— and now graduation. However,
our stages do not stop here — for
we still have a long life to live.
I was asked blatantly to say good-
bye to what I would miss the most
— however, why say goodbye? Yes,
I will miss the comfort of walking
the halls of West Bloomfield High
School day in and day out. Yes, I will
miss those classes I have grown so
very "fond" of attending each day.
Yes, I will miss those teachers that
have molded me and truly inspired
me. Yes, I will miss the friends that
I made throughout these past years.
Yes, I will miss BBYO (B'nai B'rith
Youth Organization) more than most
will ever know. Yes, I will miss my
high school years, undoubtedly.
The comfort of my high school
has given me strength to move forth
in the world and realize that there
will always be a comfort zone for
me, whether I am aware of what it is
at the time or not. The classes were
really lessons in disguise; in life,

there are always lessons to learn. As
for the teachers, they have impacted
me in ways I may never realize;
however, their lessons and tools will
stay with me as I travel through my
years. As for my friends, it is most
certainly not goodbye because even
if we do not talk as much as we
always have in the next few years,
true friends are hard to find; but
once you find them, they stick with
you for good. And as for BBYO, if
you know me, this will be a hard
thing; however, we all have to leave
things in the past.
BUT the memories from all of
these things are engraved into
me, and have shaped, molded and
changed me into the person that I am
today. For me, it is not goodbye, but
rather, an ending of a stage as we all
begin to travel onto another. H
