Board Slate

he Jewish Community
Relations Council of
Metropolitan Detroit has
announced its slate of officers and
candidates to fill board of direc-
tors' seats. The election will be held
at Council's annual meeting 7:15
p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the Max
M. Fisher Federation Building in
Bloomfield Township.
Council's annual meeting will
feature Detroit Free Press Editorial
Page Editor Steven Henderson,
who will address the topic "Is
Journalism Dead?" During the
program, Oren Goldenberg will be
honored as the first recipient of the
JCRC's Young Activist Award.
Richard Nodel has been nomi-
nated to serve as Council president.
Vice presidential candidates are
Beth Applebaum, Nancy Welber
Barr, Jodi Goodman and Judy
Rosenberg. Jeanne Maxbauer is
nominated as secretary and Linda
Finkel as treasurer.
Nominees slated for three-
year board terms: Judith Adler,
Janet Berman, Roz Blanck, Cathy
Cantor, Judge Jessica Cooper, Ruth
Grey, Barbara Goldman, Mary
Ellen Gurewitz, Julie Greenberg
Hazan, David Hecker, Florence
Herrmann, Arthur Horwitz, Sharon
Milberger, I. Matthew Miller, Karen
Rosenstein, Bert Schreiber, Allan
Sefton, Lori Talsky and Freya
Weberman.
Council immediate past presi-
dent Wendy Wagenheim served as
chair of the nominating committee.

Dr. Conrad L. Giles, Jodi Goodman,
Zieva Konvisser and Steven G.
Silverman.
Additional nominations for any
elective office may be made by peti-
tion signed by at least five qualified
delegates from Council member
organizations. Only one nominee
may be named in each petition.
Petitions must be delivered to the
Council office by 5 p.m. June 2.
