He was a doc- tor of osteopathic medicine with a family practice; for Pearl 42 years, he was the deputy medical examiner in Oakland County. Among the many awards given to Dr. Pearl are the City of Southfield Appreciation Award, the Counterpointe Youth Award from Gov. William Milliken, a Community Service Award from Gov. James Blanchard, a Wayne County Youth Services Award and the Youth Living Center Service Award for Care of Neglected and Abused Children. His career is starred with many accomplishments. Among them are being the first doctor to admit a patient to Botsford Osteopathic hos- pital, being a docent at the Holocaust Museum, being a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and being a member of the Southfield Goodfellows. Dr. Pearl is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Pearl; daughters and sons-in-law, Randi and Harry Glanz of West Bloomfield, Debbie and Geoffrey Silverman of Farmington Hills, Jill and Dr. Steven Dean of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Eric and Sydney Glanz, Darin Gross, Jake Gross, Taylor Yendick, Danny Silverman, Josh, Samantha, Nicole and Hayden Dean; brother and sister- in-law, Barry and Vera Pearl; brother- in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Sari Weiner. He was the dear father-in-law of the late Michael Yendick. Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial Park.
