Teen2Teen adds

new component.

I

n collaboration with Detroit
Public Television, the
Teen2Teen section featured
monthly in the IN, will begin to add
a video component to its reporting.
Video stories will supplement print
reporting, but also stand alone as
stories on their own as the program
develops. The stories will be available
for viewing on JNt2t.com and the
DPTV Web site, www.dptv.org .
Cameras and technical/editing
assistance will come through DPTV
professionals. Story assignments
most often will originate from
Teen2Teen sources.
Sessions to acquaint teens with
flip cameras and basic editing skills
will be held as well, but no sessions
have been scheduled yet.
To assess teen interest, DPTV's
Dana Loewenstein will attend the
next Teen2Teen staff meeting at
1 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at the IN
office, 29200 Northwestern Hwy,
Suite 110, Southfield.
Teen2Teen is open to Jewish
teens in the community. The staff is
involved in writing and supplying
photographs for each monthly four-
page section. Because of the high
degree of interest, teen stories also
have spilled over into the Teen2Teen
Extra section whenever space allows.
Any teen interested in writing,
reporting, editing, photography or
videography may attend the meeting
on May 24. Teen2Teen is a great way
for teenagers interested in a career
in journalism to
not only hone
their writing and
editing skills, but
also learn more
the evolving field.
Executive Editor
Keri Guten Cohen
Keri Guten
also is interested
Cohen
in finding teens
that will be home
over the summer to participate in
the program, which is co-sponsored
by the Schulman Fund of the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.
To RSVP for the meeting and for
directions to the proper entrance to
the IN office, please e-mail Cohen
at kcohen@thejewishnews.corn or
call (248) 351-5144. _
