What A Walk!

The weather was perfect; the
American and Israeli flags
streamed in the soft breeze and a
multitude of people, one big family
of people who love Israel — babies
through not so young celebrated
Israel at Temple Shir Shalom in
West Bloomfield with food, song
and dancing followed by a walk
down Orchard Lake Road for a mile
and returning to the temple.
My congratulations and thanks
go to Temple Shir Shalom's execu-
tive director, Andre Douville, and
his staff for their extraordinary
preparation of the temple and
grounds and to Andre and walk
coordinator Mark Segel for their
tireless leadership and planning the
Walk for Israel.
Mark's continuous meeting
memos, search for sponsors and
determined direction of his team of
volunteers contributed significantly
to the walk's success.
Congratulations also go to the
many sponsors and vendors who,
without their support the Walk for
Israel would not have been the glo-
rious event it was.
