"The most enchanted and enchanting setting in America," according to the New York Times Magazine, Cranbrook House and Gardens was the longtime home of Cranbrook's founders,
Ellen and George Booth. The oldest surviving manor home in Metro Detroit, the English Arts and Crafts—style Cranbrook House was designed by noted Detroit architect Albert Kahn

in 1907 and stands as a centerpiece of Cranbrook's 319-acre National Historic Landmark campus. Guided tours of Cranbrook House are available from mid-June through October.

Self-guided tours of the 40 acres of lush, flowering gardens surrounding the home begin in May. For more information, visit cranbrook.edu .
