Today, the worst water crisis in Israel's history has caused a dramatic drop in

Israel's water supply. JNF's reservoirs, dams and water recycling centers free

up enough water to meet the needs of 1.5 million Israelis each year. We are

committed to building another 40 reservoirs over the next few years. JNF has

the most effective response to Israel's water crisis. This is JNF. We are on the

ground working miracles every day for the people and land of Israel.

eshivat Akiva will host
the parents of two fallen
Israeli heroes whose sto-
ries are typical of the Israeli will to
outlast repeated episodes of Arab
terror.
At 8 p.m.
Tuesday, May 5,
the Southfield
school will honor
the memory
of Major Roi
Klein and Noam
Apter. Their fami-
Roi Klein
lies have toured
the U.S. and
Canada to tell the
heroic stories of
these two young
men.
Klein was
killed at the battle
of Bint Jbeil dur-
ing the Second
Lebanon War
Noam Apter
when he leaped
onto a hand
grenade to save the lives of his
comrades. He died with the words
of Shema on his lips. His family
received the Israel Defense Forces
Medal of Favor that he earned
posthumously. He was an engineer
and Torah scholar as well as soldier
and leader.
Apter was working in the kitchen
at Yeshivat Otniel when two heavily
armed Islamic terrorists broke into
the Israeli yeshivah. His quick, for-
tuitous actions prevented the ter-
rorists from entering the adjacent
dining hall, which was filled with
teachers and students, but resulted
in his life being lost at age 22.
The program will feature the
film With All Your Soul — the Story
of Roi Klein, produced by Klein's
sister, and an Israeli television
documentary describing Apter's
bravery.
The free program is spearheaded
by the local chapter of Bnei Akiva,
a religious Zionist youth group,
with funding from the Yeshivat
Akiva PTA and the Young Israel
of Oak Park. Yeshivat Akiva is at
21100 W. 12 Mile, east of Lahser.
