Kylie Morgan
Gayer, together with
her parents, Julie
and Randy Gayer,
will celebrate her bat
mitzvah, Saturday,
April 18, at Temple
Israel in West
Gayer
Bloomfield. She is
the sister of Zachary.
Her grandparents are Judy and Dr.
Marvin Kofender. She is also the
grandchild of the late Charles Gayer
and the late Arlene Ruby. Her proud
great-grandmother is Lillian Wolfson.
Kylie is a student at Berkshire
Middle School in Birmingham. She
sold Shop 4 a Cure cards to raise funds
for the Matthew Bittker Foundation
and felt that was her most meaningful
mitzvah project.
Jacob Ben
Hertzberg, son of
Nicole and Kevin
Bopp and Galena and
John Hertzberg, will
be called to the Torah
as a bar mitzvah on
Friday, April 17, at
Hertzberg
Temple Emanu-El
in Oak Park. He is the
brother of Griffin Bopp and Jameson
Hertzberg. Jacob's proud grandparents
are Sylvia and David Nelson, Marilyn
and Stuart Hertzberg, Gail and Alan
Perlmuter and Alla and Paul Katz. His
great-grandfather Selmer Solem is
also extremely proud of him.
Jacob is a student at Norup
International School in Oak Park. His
most meaningful mitzvah project was
working at Yad Ezra in Berkley, dis-
tributing food to those in need.
Anna Jessica
Karpinsky (Esther
Chanah) was called
to the Torah as a
bat mitzvah on
Saturday, April 4, at
Congregation Beth
Shalom in Oak Park.
Karpinsky
She is the daughter
of Ellen and Eugene Karpinsky and
the younger sister of Sandra. She is the
granddaughter of Svetlana and Yury
Edlin and Faina and Vladimir Karpinsky
and the great-granddaughter of Tamara
Vlasova and Yakov Starobinsky.
Anna is an eighth-grade student
at Norup International School in Oak
Park. For her mitzvah project, she vol-
unteered her time helping the teachers
in the autistic classrooms of her school.
Danielle Megan
Rubin (Tzipora Zisel)
will be called to the
Torah to celebrate
her bat mitzvah
Saturday, April 18,
at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek
Rubin
Southfield. She is the
daughter of Michele
and Howard Rubin and the sister of
Mia. Sharing in her celebration will be
her proud grandparents Marilyn and
Sidney Rubin and Elaine Brickman.
She is also the grandchild of the late
Dr. Murray Brickman. Also joining in
her simchah will be great-grandmoth-
er Ruth Schneyer.
Danielle attends Walnut Creek
Middle School in Walled Lake. She is a
volunteer with the Friendship Circle in
West Bloomfield, where she enjoys her
time with Israeli folk dancing.
Jin Tuvia Swartz,
together with his
parents, Nancy and
Irving Swartz, and
sister Hjarsti and
brother Guo-Jian,
will celebrate his
bar mitzvah during
Swartz
Havdalah services
Saturday, April 18,
at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield.
His proud grandmothers are Rhoda
Golden and Clare Swartz. He is also the
grandchild of the late William Golden
and the late Seymour Swartz.
Jin attends West Hills Middle School
in Bloomfield Hills. He felt volunteer-
ing with the Animal Care Network,
which helps with the feeding and res-
cuing of dogs, was his most meaning-
ful mitzvah project.

Nikki attends O.E. Dunckel Middle
School in Farmington Hills. Among
her wide variety of mitzvah projects,
the most meaningful was participating
in the Walk 4 Friendship.
