the Detroit-based private equity firm

There's also a charitable cause
behind TechNow09. Wolfe, Lipson and
Levey have raised at least $19,000 for
the Michigan chapter of the Multiple
Sclerosis Society. The group was cho-
sen because Wolfe's father has lived
with the disease for 30 years.
"We've had a lot of support from
the Jewish community," Wolfe said.
"For me, it's been great to see how
strong and dedicated the community
really is."

The Main Event
The trio made sure tickets to
TechNow09 would be accessible to
everyone; they're available online
for a minimum donation of just $1.
The evening will include brief pre-
sentations from five Michigan-based
technology companies, an interactive
panel discussion about the economy
and the role of technology in shaping
Michigan's future, a networking/cock-
tail hour, a raffle and, to top it all off,
a live concert with the Latin-inspired
rock band Manolete.
"This event is really going to be

opportunities and outings every month, so there's always

something fun to do. Learn new arts and crafts, play billiards
or attend one of our exciting and lively exercise classes.
Whatever it is you're looking for, you'll find it all here. See
for yourself why our residents love our lifestyle of simple
excellence and truly believe that "life here is grand."

a smash hit:' said Levey. "Michigan
needs events like this now more than
ever. We need to bring the startup
communities together to innovate, cre-
ate wealth and jobs."
Added Wolfe, "We want to celebrate
that there are young people here start-
ing innovative businesses. We want to
focus on what's good, not what's bad,
and help bring the young 20-some-
things back to our region:'
Lipson said, "We've seen a lot of
people who are stuck in their old ways
of thinking and that needs to change.
The unique thing about what we're
doing is that this is not a typical, bor-
ing event. The music theater is a really
cool concert venue. This won't feel like
a business event or a technology con-
ference; it's going to be a fun night for
everyone!"

TechNow09 tickets are avail-
able for a minimum donation
of $1 at www.technow09.com .
The event takes place 6-10
p.m. Thursday, April 23, at the
Royal Oak Music Theatre, 318
W. Fourth St., Royal Oak.

• Leftos.com is Zach
Lipson's Web site, due
to be launched later
this spring. It has a
name derived from
the phrase, "Lessons
for the Opposite
Sex." The Web site
will serve as an online
resource, bridging
the communication
gap between men
and women. Lipson
says the site will be
reinforced by social
networking features
that allow users to
connect and share
advice on a personal
level.

• Uwemp.com is the
brainchild of Jordan
Wolfe. It's an online
media company pro-
viding insightful and
educational stories
about people's expe-
riences, accomplish-
ments and successes.
Stories are shared
through an interac-
tive community and
open-source media
platform. Wolfe hopes
to inspire people
while connecting
users with similar
interests.

• Bablur.com is Mason
Levey's mobile mar-
keting firm, special-
izing in campaigns
wholly focused on
reaching customers
through mobile devic-
es. "We help brands
and publishers reach
consumers on their
mobile phones," Levey
explained. "Bablur
helps publishers build
and launch applica-
tions for the iPhone
marketplace. Once a
publisher has a live
iPhone application,
consumers can then
download and use the
application to view the
publisher's media."
