DR. GERTRUDE JEAN LEVE GORDON,
93, of Tucson, Ariz., died March 28, 2009.
She had her doctorate in special edu-
cation from Wayne State University and
was the principal of Helen Field Learning
Center in Detroit. She was an accom-
plished singer and pianist and began her
professional career singing in Washington,
D.C., and Detroit. She was a former mem-
ber of Temple Beth El.
Dr. Gordon is survived by her two
daughters, Toba Blum-Shiefman of Tucson
Samara Wilder of Sedona, Ariz.; grand-
daughter, Briana Neeley; great-grand-
daughter, Brodie; brother and sister-in-
law, Jack "Sonny" Leve of Oak Park.
She was the beloved daughter of the late
Samuel and late Molly Zeitman; sister of
the late Beryl Leve.

RAYETTA HERSCHFUS, 79, of
Southfield, died March 31, 2009.
She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Dr. Marc and Monika
Herschfus of Southfield, Brian and Fern
Herschfus of Southfield; daughter and
son-in-law, Andrea and Bryan Bier of West
Orange, N.J.; grandchildren, Amanda and
Evan Lyman, Jordana Bier, Danielle Bier,
Raphael Bier, Yaakov Riphoel, Emunah,
Natanya, Brittany, Gabriella, Zachary.
Mrs. Herschfus was the beloved wife
of the late Dr. Leon Herschfus; loving
mother of the late Dr. Raphael "Maurice"
Herschfus; dear sister of the late Avrum
Harris, the late Louis Harris; loving grand-
mother of the late Lauren Bier.

EARLE MOSTYN, 70,
of West Bloomfield, died
March 31, 2009.
He was the founder
of E. Mostyn Insurance
Agency in West
Bloomfield. From 1968-
1978, he was the owner
Mostyn
of Nosherie in the
Lincoln Shopping Center,
which is now the Bread Basket.
Mr. Mostyn is survived by his wife,
Elaine Mostyn; daughter, Wendi Zupmore
of West Bloomfield; sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, Michael Mostyn of West
Bloomfield; David and Rhonda Mostyn of
Wixom, Corey and Marla Mostyn of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Aaron, Sara
and Arielle Zupmore, Amanda, Jordan
and Sydney Mostyn, Dylan and Brooke
Mostyn, Joshua and Noah Mostyn.
He was the loving brother of the late
Heather Joseph.

RUTH CAPLAN SAVAGE, 84, of
Southfield, died April 5, 2009.
She was a Detroit public school teacher
who spent most of her 33 years at Dow
Elementary School. She was also a member
of the National Council of Jewish Women.

ter and son-in-law, Evva and Dr. Michael
Hepner of Farmington Hills; son and
daughter-in-law, Peter and Suzan Caplan of
