How to Send Letters

We prefer letters relating to JN articles. We reserve the right to edit or reject letters. Letters of
225 words or less are considered first. Longer ones will be subject to trimming. Letter writers
are limited in frequency of publication. Letters must be original and contain the name, address
and title of the writer and a day phone number. Non - electronic copies must be hand signed.

Send letters to the JN: 29200 Northwestern Highway, Suite 110, Southfield, MI 48034; fax (248)
304-8885; e - mail, letters9the jewishnews.com . We prefer e-mail.

Wake Up, Reporters
There is no limit to the depth of
depravity for those consumed with
anti-Semitism. For some psycho-path-
ological reason, Jew hatred becomes
the focal point of their lives.
The Arab Muslim culture, with some
exceptions, inculcates their young
with hatred of all non-Muslim cul-
tures, with special venom aimed at the
Jews. But why would our news media
feed this violent sickness?
Case in point: Hysterical and obses-
sive attention has been paid to the
new and unsubstantiated allegations
of bad behavior on the part of some
Israel Defense Forces soldiers during
the recent war in Gaza and southern
Israel. Even if the accusations prove to
be true, all it means is that there are
some bad apples.
The IDF rates with the U.S. military
as the most righteous fighting force in
the world. The rules of engagement for
the IDF risk the safety of soldiers in
order to prevent civilian casualties. It
has been proven time and again over
many decades that the Purity of Arms
is the guiding principle of the IDE
Reckless provocations need to be
balanced with responsible and honest
journalism.

Corrections

• In a photo caption in "High Stakes
Help" (Platinum, April 2, page B5)
the titles of the two people photo-
graphed were incorrect. Ken Bernard
of Farmington Hills is president of
Yad Ezra Kosher Food Pantry; Diane
Rimar of Berkley is a volunteer.

• In "No Jew Is Ever Alone" (April 2,
page All), David Nussbaum should
have been identified as the senior vice
president and chief development offi-
cer of the Metropolitan Jewish Health
System and executive director of the
Metropolitan Jewish Health System
Foundation, both in New York City.

• Correcting an editing error in "Status
Quo, For Now" (April 2, page A19):
Kosher supervision of Harvard Row
Kosher Meats in West Bloomfield will
remain with the Council of Orthodox
Rabbis of Greater Detroit (Vaad), not
with a Conservative kosher supervisor.
The Vaad has certified kashrut at
Harvard Row Meats since the store
opened at its previous location in
Southfield in 1966. Harvard Row
Kosher Meats has been in West
Bloomfield 14 years.
