The party was for people of
all ages and skill levels. Cheryl

music and offered dance lessons for beginners. The
evening also included Israeli salad, pita, humus, falafel,
grape leaves and fruit.
"People with all different abilities were able to par-
ticipate," said Esther Allweiss Ingber, director of
Ameinu Detroit. "The variety kept people interested."
For Shapiro, who grew up in an active Jewish family
where Israeli music and dancing played a central role,
