DR. RHODA ROSENTHAL, 80, of Oak
Park, died March 29, 2009.
She was a pediatrician on staff at
Children's Hospital and worked for
the Detroit Institute for Children. She
was also a member of Congregation
Beth Shalom and a graduate of the
University of Michigan Medical
School.
Dr. Rosenthal is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Janice and
Moddy Bonney of Colorado; grand-
sons, Benjamin and David Bonney;
sisters-in-law, Belle Linton, Molly
Center; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Dr. Albert Rosenthal; loving sister of
the late Fred Horwitz.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made
to Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy
Network, 6555 W. Maple, West
Bloomfield, MI 48322. Arrangements

BERRY RUBIN, 63, of Farmington
Hills, died March 24, 2009.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Edie Rubin; sons and daughter-in-law,
Evan and Eri Rubin of Tokyo, Eddie
Rubin of Farmington Hills; daughter,
Anna Rubin of Farmington Hills;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Arnie
and Kathi Rubin of Howell, Mark and
Dorothy Rubin of Chicago, Ill.; sister
and brother-in-law, Marlene and Garry
Zeitlin of Novi; granddaughter, Naomi;
father, Sam Borak; many loving nieces,
nephews, other family members and
friends.
Mr. Rubin was the dear son of
the late Edward Rubin and the late
Rebecca Rubin Borak.
Interment at the B'nai Israel
Memorial Gardens in Novi.

FLORENCE SCHLAFF, 86, of
Baltimore, Md., died March 22, 2009.
She is survived by her beloved
husband, Dr. Robert Schlaff; son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. William Schlaff

and Lorraine Dugoff of Denver,
Colo.; daughter and son-in-law,
Barbara Schlaff and William Petok
of Baltimore; sisters, Ethel Fortner
of Southfield and Shirley Gross of
Livonia; grandchildren, Alison Petok,
Benjamin Petok, Daniel Schlaff, Maura
Schlaff and Julia Schlaff; many loving
nieces, nephews, other family mem-
bers and friends.
Mrs. Schlaff was the dear sister
of the late Lewis Stern and the late
Beverly Fisch.
Interment at Beth Abraham Cemetery

YAFFA SERRAJIAN, 59, of
Commerce, died March 26, 2009.
She is survived by her beloved
husband, Koren Serrajian Sr.; son and
daughter-in-law, Koren and Elizabeth
Serrajian Jr. of Canton; parents, Jimmy
and Gittel Fish of Sunrise, Fla.; sister
and brother-in-law, Shula and Stuart
Levy of Lake Mary, Fla.; granddaugh-
ter, Sabrina Rose Serrajian; niece and
nephew, Ashley Levy and David Levy;
many other loving family members
and friends.

Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.

PHYLLIS IRENE
(LIPTZEN)
STONE, 71, born
in Detroit, passed
away on March 22,
2009, in Evanston,
Ill., after a long
fight against breast
cancer and multiple

sclerosis.
A 1955 graduate of Central High
School in Detroit and a 1959 graduate
of the University of Michigan, she
went on to earn a master's of library
science degree and was librarian
for more than 20 years at Evanston
Township High School.
Mrs. Stone is survived by her
beloved husband, Phillip Stone; ador-
ing sister, Joyce; loving children,
Claudia, Rebecca and Alice; cher-
ished grandchildren, Sammy, Henry,
Matthew, Sylvie, Jeremy and Eli.
She was the sister of the late Shirley.
