IRVING GORDON, 89, of West Bloomfield, died March 17, 2009. Iry was born and raised in Chicago. He was a Veteran of Gordon World War II. Iry met his beloved wife, Ethel Stone, in South Haven. After they wed, they resided in Detroit. He worked at Citrin Oil-Total Petroleum for more than 45 years, retiring as the real estate opera- tions manager. He was often called upon to host corporate functions as a toastmaster. Iry always had a twinkle in his eye and a joke or story to be shared. He was an avid golfer, loved playing bridge and enjoyed wonderful fam- ily gatherings in Michigan, Chicago and Florida. He contributed to many charitable organizations and was a member of Temple Israel in Detroit and West Bloomfield for many years. Iry always said, "I have been blessed with a beautiful family." His advice to Jake, his great-grandson was: "always to be kind to everyone" Irving Gordon is survived by his dear daughters, Barbara Wechsler of West Bloomfield and Linda Gordon of San Francisco; grand- children, Julie (Anthony) Primak, Lori Wechsler, Amy Wechsler; great-grandson, Jake Primak; sister, Lenore Brant of Palos Heights, Ill.; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Willie and Ceci Stone, Rose Siegel, Ruth Korn-Hack, Rosalyn Stone, Ileane Stone; many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Iry was the beloved husband of the late Ethel Gordon, brother of the late Sam Gordon and brother- in-law of the late Dr. Jules Brant. He was the dear brother-in-law of the late Ralph Stone, the late Dorothy and the late Joe Sklar, the late Margaret and the late Harold Getz, the late Maurice Korn, the late Norman Hack, the late Daniel Siegel, the late Sylvia Ellman, the late Seymour Ellman, the late Ted Stone and the late Tavy Stone. Internment was at Clover Hill Park Cemetery in Birmingham. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.
