Hosts Kathy Lee and Hoda Kotb will interview the brothers, who are sons of Marc Sussman and Lynne Avadenka of Huntington Woods. With their sense of humor and talent, the brothers will be promoting their way of making cook- ing fun and also preparing recipes from their cookbook. While in New York, the Sussmans will make other public appearances and offer cooking demonstrations. Freshman in the Kitchen is geared toward a younger crowd and provided step-by-step cooking instructions as well as detailed instructions on grocery shopping, how to outfit the kitchen and other kitchen tips. The Sussman brothers are recent Comcast Aids Kids The Comcast Foundation has donated $8,000 to the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit to support an inclusion program for preschool chil- dren with special needs. Kids All Together is a year-round program that allows these children to attend the Sarah and Irving Pitt Child Development Center at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield with staff support from each child, and take part in educational, recreational and cultural activities. Thriving On Helping The Cancer Thrivers Network for Jewish Women will support BookStock on Wednesday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Thrivers will sort books for the annual BookStock sale in the spring. The book sorting will be held in the book depot at the rear of the Bloomfield Plaza on Telegraph Road at Maple Road, Bloomfield Township. Lunch will follow at the Gallery Restaurant. Lawrence Tech Contest Southfield-based Lawrence Technological University is launching its Technovate competition to challenge high school stu- dents to create something of value out of an everyday object. Top prizes are $2,000 scholarships to LTU. High school individual students or teams can enter online at bit.ly/technovate by March 29. On March 30, Josh Linkner, founder and CEO of Michigan-based ePrize, will announce object to be used via a video on the Technovate Web page.
