He joined the party in 2000 when it
was at its lowest point and correctly
forecast that it would quickly recover
because its platform "best represents
the Israeli people's vision of a Jewish
state."

Akiva Carlebach Evening
Beth Isaac Synagogue
Yeshivat Akiva in Southfield will
host an "Evening of Carlebach" on
Saturday evening March 14. The
event will feature the film You Never
Know, by Israeli director Boaz
Shahak.
The film highlights the rabbi,
folksinger and composer, Shlomo
Carlebach. Carlebach's personal
accompanist, Howie Kahn, will
introduce the film as well as share
recollections of the legendary rabbi
during a kumsitz of Carlebach tunes.
Doors will open at 9 p.m. and cost
is $18 per person. Light refreshments

The Adat Shalom Sisterhood will
hold a three-session spring "Wine,

sexuality from the Torah, Talmud
and in Kabbalah. Rabbi Rachel Shere
