After his discharge, he attended the University of Michigan. In 1951, he received his law degree from U-M and embarked upon his career as an attorney in Detroit. With the rise of shopping malls in the 1950s, Mickey soon began specializing in real estate law, particularly retail store leases. He worked as an attorney for the Winkelman's chain in Detroit and then as assistant general counsel of Hart, Schaffner & Marx (later Hartmarx Corp.) in Chicago for more than 25 years. In his work, Mickey was known for his precision and attention to detail — he made sure that every "i" was dotted and "t" was crossed in important legal documents. After he retired, Mickey and Lois moved to Sarasota. They took this opportunity to travel widely, visiting Europe, Israel, and the Galapagos, among other destina- tions. Unfortunately, ill health restricted Mickey's activities during his final years, but he never lost his enthusiasm or high spirits. He will live on in the hearts and memories of his wife, Lois; sons, Paul and Dan; daughters-in-law, Holly Scheider and Mikiko Sakae; grandsons, Jasper, Adrian and Bodie Feinberg; sister, Dorothy; as well as many friends and col- leagues. Mickey and Lois celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June 2008. There will be a private memo- rial service for family members. Contributions in Mickey's mem- ory may be made to the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous or National Parkinson Foundation. If you have preplanned with another firm and are dissatisfied for any reason, we honor exchanges (transfers) to our firm. You've uncovered the perfect gift for your family.
