The institute, founded by national philanthropist Harold Grinspoon, along with an allocation of the Rebecca and Gary Sakwa Challenge Fund of Federation's 2008 Annual Campaign, each provided $75,000, cre- ating a $150,000 match to Tamarack's campaign. The money raised has allowed Tamarack to renovate its Butzel Conference Center and Bargman Senior Staff Housing at Camp Maas in Ortonville. Future projects for the campaign include a new staff lounge and a trip center for the camp's hiking and canoeing trips. Tamarack's campaign supplements the agency's annual "Send a Kid to Tamarack" campaign, which is solely designated for financial aid. For the first time in its 107-year history, the agency expects to allocate more than $1 million in aid to families this summer.
