Until 1965, Egyptian generals knew Wolfgang Lotz as a wealthy German
horse breeder who sent champagne and lavish gifts to a few, certain friends.
Much about his life was a mystery. Some said Lotz had been an officer with
the SS; others were convinced he worked for Egyptian intelligence.
Then, in 1965, Lotz was exposed as Israeli spy.
Lotz said that he did, in fact, work for the Israelis - but only because
they had threatened to expose his Nazi past.
Three years into a 25-year sentence, Lotz and his German wife were
handed over to Israel in a prisoner exchange. Only then was the whole
story of Lotz's extraordinary life revealed.
This incredible story is told by Lotz's son, who produced the film, and
who will join us for a conversation afterward.
