I Metro AROUND TOWN Fondue Feud Couples team up for a fun night of trivia. Gina Erpardo of West Bloomfield with Anya Morrison and Stacie Ostrofsky, both of Farmington Hills T hey bundled up on a cold January night for a little dipping, sipping and quip- ping. More than 70 people came together at Blumz Flowers in Ferndale for an innovative program called "Fondue Feud." The Jan. 31 event, sponsored by the couples committee of the Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, included a cocktail hour with appetizers, fondue (of course) and a night of old-time game show style games includ- ing Match Game, Let's Make a Deal, and Family Feud. "We wanted to try something a little different to get people interacting with each other. Everyone participated and had a great time!" said Eric Goodman of Birmingham. He served as the evening's emcee and also co-chaired the event along with Stephanie Rosenbaum of Huntington Woods. During dinner, the couples sat around tables for six. Each table had a fondue pot and dipping sauces. After visiting a buffet and loading up on things like chicken skewers, beef, veggies and other foods, participants cooked them in hot oil. Then, they got competitive playing the various games. "Everyone had a sheet of paper and we'd ask a question like, 'What does Jay Leno have more of than anyone else?" explained Goodman. "People wrote down their top ten answers like,`a chin, money, jokes, cars: and whoever got the top answers would win." Prizes included items like hats, playing cards and tickets to the next couple's gather- ing. The first of its kind event had a sold-out crowd. "Due to the limited size of the room we actually had to close registration early and turn people away:' said YAD Director Jennifer Levine of Pleasant Ridge. "Many people said it was the best event they've ever attended!" Spotted in the Fondue Feud crowd were: Alexis and Michael Schostak of Bloomfield Hills; liana and Noah Stern, Marla and Jeff Kaminsky and Gina and Yuksel Erpardo, all of West Bloomfield; Jessica and Steve Migliore of Commerce Township; and Alaina and Sandy Kronenberg, Stacie and Jason Ostrofsky, and Elissa and Rabbi Jason Miller, all of Farmington Hills. 1-1 w Event co-chairs Eric Goodman of Birmingham Michael and Alexis Schostak of and Stephanie Rosenbaum of Huntington Bloomfield Hills Woods .
