CAROLINE PECK, 83, of Amherst,
N.Y., died Jan. 27, 2009,
A retired bookkeeper, she was
a past member of the Jewish War
Veterans Auxiliary and a past active
participant in the Bel Canto Choir.
Mrs. Peck is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and
Dr. Donald Crawford of Buffalo, N.Y.;
grandchildren, Erin and Zachary
Crawford; sister and brother-in-law,
Betty Ruthe and Sheldon Gilbert
of Farmington Hills; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Heidi
Ruzumna of Weston, Mass., and

She was the beloved mother of the
late Barbara Peck.

A teacher and educator, she was
a member of Hadassah and the Iota
Alpha Pi Sorority.
Mrs. Slavin is survived by her

Beach; son, Brent Slavin of Ferndale;
daughter, Susan Paul; grandchil-
dren, Carolyn and David Semel, Julie
Slavin, Rachel Pauls, Edward Pauls
