As the movie Elizabeth opens, Anna Banks (Emily Browing, 20) returns home from a psychiatric facility to find that her father (David Strathairn) has wed Rachel (Banks), her late mother's former nurse. Then, Anna's mother's ghost appears and warns Anna that the nurse has evil intentions. Anna enlists her sister (Arielle Kebbel, 20) to get the proof about Rachel's bad- ness. Banks, a Jew-by-choice, was just named to Askmen.com's very popular annual list of the "99 most desirable women," in the No. 95 spot. The list is heavy with fashion models, but about a quarter of the Bar Refaeli "most desirable" are actresses. Included are Jewish thespians Scarlett Johansson, 24 (No. 7); Emmanuelle Chriqui, 31 (No.12); Mila Kunis, 25 (No. 27); and Isla Fisher, 32 (No. 31). Model and Dancing with the Stars champ Brooke Burke, 37, is No. 93 on the list, and Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli, 23, in the No. 34 spot. _ Refaeli has long been involved in an on-and-off romantic relation- ship with Leonardo DiCaprio. In the extended flashback scenes, the soft, winsome Ludivine Sagnier shines as Hannah. A Secret achieves a beautiful balance of intellect and emotion, drawing the to being with DiCaprio, she briefly dated hunky Jewish actor David Charvet, 36, of Baywatch fame. Charvet found more mature com- pany with Brooke Burke; they've been engaged for three years and have two children together. MOT Finally Isla Fisher is not only desirable; she has finally made it clear that she is "kosher" as well. The Australian actress (The Wedding Crashers) and British Jewish comic actor Sacha Baron Cohen have been a couple since 2000 and have been engaged for about five years. In October 2007, Fisher gave birth to the couple's daugh- ter, Olive. For years now, Fisher has report- edly been study- ing to convert under Orthodox auspices. But the status of her con- version has been Isla Fisher the subject of conflicting media reports. Fisher finally clarified matters in the February issue of Allure magazine: "I converted as of two years ago. It is always reported that I am still studying, so I am either the slowest studier in the world; or I have, in fact, converted. I never saw it as a losing or gaining situation, just an embracing situ- ation. I think if one wanted to be buried next to one's beloved and they were Jewish, then one would have to be Jewish, too." Fisher added that she took the Hebrew name Ayala ("doe"). It appears that her conversion was completed before Olive's birth. As good as the film is to that point, it's the closing sequence that propels A Secret into the canon of great movies about the Holocaust.
