The School of Business Administration was named to The Princeton Review's "Best 296 Business Schools" list for 2009. Editors describe the school as providing "a progressive MBA program to a serious population of working professionals." The Review quotes students, including one who says the MBA coursework "is pertinent to my profession, and I take what I learn and use it every day in the workplace." Jerry Herron, dean of the Irvin D. Reid Honors College, will receive the Faculty/Staff Community Service-Learning Award from the Michigan Campus Compact. The Honors curriculum encourages students to enroll in coursework through CommunityEngagement@ Wayne, a service-learning initiative Herron implemented AIM HIGHER to provide Wayne State an office that gives faculty tools to strengthen course content; allows students the opportunity to apply classroom theories; and offers community organizations assistance from WSU students.
