Administration was named to
The Princeton Review's "Best 296
Business Schools" list for 2009.
Editors describe the school as
providing "a progressive MBA
program to a serious population
of working professionals."
The Review quotes students,
including one who says the
MBA coursework "is pertinent to

learn and use it every day in the

Jerry Herron, dean of the
Irvin D. Reid Honors College,
will receive the Faculty/Staff

studies was recently created
at WSU. The minor delves
into Jewish history and culture
through a broad range of
courses that cover Biblical

the momentum and interest
necessary for the establishment
of a Jewish studies minor,"
said Eugene Driker, chairman
of the university's Board of
Governors. "This new program
fosters a greater appreciation
for Jewish art, music and theater
throughout the region."

and Thomas Kienbaum,'68,
co-founder of Kienbaum
Opperwall Hardy & Pelton,
were named chair and vice
chair, respectively, of the Law
School Board of Visitors. They
will serve two-year terms. "The
Wayne State Law School does
an outstanding job of educating
and training its students for
long, prosperous careers in the
law," Kienbaum said. "As vice
chair, I would like to increase
general awareness of the Law
School's services to students and
to the community."

Wayne State University has
earned special recognition from
the Michigan Minority Business
Development Council for its
support and encouragement of
minority vendors. The university
received the Corporation of the
Year Award in the Education
and Government category
at MMBDC's annual awards
ceremony.
