ROBERT
CHARLES
SMITH, 85, died
Jan. 14, 2009, in
Scottsdale, Ariz.
He was born
April 13, 1923, in
Detroit, the son
of Barney and
Marion Fenton
Smith. He served in the U.S. Army
Air Corps during World War II. He
was a homebuilder and developer
in the Detroit area with Sullivan-
Smith Reality Co., moving to
Arizona in 1978.
He is survived by his son,
Levi (Barbara) Smith of West
Bloomfield; daughters, Bobette
(Byron) Siegel of Scottsdale,
Elizabeth A. Smith of Peoria, Ariz.;
grandchildren, Noah, Chelsea and
Asa Smith, Matthew, Steve and
Lindsay Siegel. He will be missed
by his companions, Cyndie Spencer
and Isabel D'Angelo, as well as
many friends.
"RC" was preceded in death by
his beloved wife, Betty, in 2006; and
by his siblings, Craig Smith, Milton
Smith and Lois Robinson, all of
Michigan.
Memorial services will be held on
Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Temple Beth
El, Bloomfield Hills. Contributions
may be made to the Heard Museum,
Phoenix Art Museum, American
Red Cross, the Salvation Army, or a
charity of one's choice.

MORTON STEINHART, 86, of Oak
Park, died Jan. 11, 2009.
He is survived by his wife,
Dorothy; son, Benjamin (Binyomin)
Steinhart; daughter and son-in-
law, Leah and Shmuel Wohl of
Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughter-in law
and son-in-law, Adina and Shalom
Stein of Philadelphia, Pa.; sisters
and brother-in-law, Laura Kohn
of Hillside, N. J., Shirley and Saul
Rubenstein; many loving grand-
children and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Steinhart was the loving
father of the late Shmuel Steinhart.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment
at Workmen's Circle Cemetery in
Clinton Township. Services and
arrangements by Hebrew Memorial
Chapel.
