"Integrative Medicine"
is the concept that the
integration of the best of "alterna-
tive" or "holistic" therapies with
traditional medicine provides
(they argue) a more comprehen-
sive/effective means of dealing
with illness than tradition-
al medicine does by itself.

Over the years there has been
much debate both inside and
outside the medical community
over the efficacy of alternative
and holistic remedies versus their
more traditional, science-based
counterparts. As more of these
non-conventional remedies are
found to have scientific support,
they may be legitimate candidates
for inclusion in traditional medi-
cal regimens. I hope this helps
answer your question.
