Beth El Spa Day
The focus will be on fitness, beauty
and fun when the Temple Beth El
Sisterhood hosts Spa Day, Thursday,
Jan. 29.
Following registration at 8:30
a.m., participants can energize with
a Yoga workout with Sandra Gross
and breathe easier and release strain
through Feldenkrais with Osa Jackson
Shulte, Feldenkrais assistant trainer.
They can also choose to pamper
themselves with a chair massage from
Andrea Ubom, owner of the Franklin
Spa; relax with a hand massage and
paraffin treatment from Roz & Friends
Salon or bring out their beauty in a
makeup session from Amy Regal of
Glamour Puss Beauty Bar & Boutique.
Following the morning's activities,
participants will hear featured guest
speaker Dr. Jill Syme, enjoy a healthy
lunch buffet and have an opportunity
to win a door prize.
The cost is $20 for sisterhood mem-
bers and $25 for guests. Reservations
are limited. Participants should bring
a mat or beach towel and dress com-
fortably.
The Yoga and Feldenkrais ses-
sions are open to all. When making
a reservation, indicate, in order of
preference, choices of hand massage,
chair massage or make up. Checks

Michigan, Israel Business
The Adat Shalom Israel Advocacy
Committee will hold a Michigan-Israel
Business Bridge (MIBB) awareness eve-
ning at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4,
at the synagogue in Farmington Hills.
The purpose of the meeting is to
make the public aware of the existing
Michigan-Israel businesses, plans for
future joint projects, and potential
opportunities for those interested
in ventures that will benefit both
Michigan and Israel.
Presenters will include Chuck
Newman, MIBB president and CEO/
founder of ReCellular; MIBB Executive
Director Ron Perry; and Maureen
Kraus, deputy director, Economic
Development & Community Affairs,
Oakland County.
The program is co-sponsored by
Adat Shalom and the MIBB. Larry
Buch of Farmington Hills is chairing
the evening.
MIBB is an independent, not-for-

profit, "connector" organization dedi-
cated to promoting a mutually ben-
eficial business partnership between
Michigan and Israel. It helps Israeli
companies do business in Michigan
and establish facilities here while also
helping Michigan companies identify
technologies, business partners and
investment opportunities in Israel.
The program is open to the com-
munity at no charge. Those who wish

College Loan Information
JVS, a nonprofit human services
organization, will host a parent
informational meeting on the Jewish
Educational Loan Service (JELS) and
additional financial aid options for
college students 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb.
5, at the JVS Rose and Sidney Diem
building, 29699 Southfield Road in
Southfield.
Marvin Berman, JELS coordinator,
will discuss how to apply for an inter-
est-free loan offered through JELS. He
will address the availability of finan-
cial assistance through state, federal,
institutional and private sources.
Although the meeting will be
directed toward parents, students are
welcome to attend. To register or for

JELS is open to Metro Detroit Jewish
residents and is administered through
JVS, Hebrew Free Loan Association
and Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit.

less services, housing initiatives and
specialized senior adult programming
from its offices in Detroit, Southfield,
Roseville and West Bloomfield.

Super Bowl Fun

On Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1, 12-3
p.m., Temple Kol Ami will host bowl-
ing and pizza for the family at Langans
on Northwestern Highway south of 14
Mile in Farmington Hills.
The cost is $15 per person for three
pieces of pizza, pop and bowling ($8

be available. Join in Rabbi Roman's
