Center Zekelman Family Campus recently lost a remarkable and dynamic individual, who passed away after 24 years of leadership. His vision, 1 7"T, our founder and and initiatives director, Rabbi Charles impacted H. Rosenzveig scholarship dramatically the world of Holocaust awareness and education locally, nationally and internationally. He was dedicated to commemorating a singular and horrific period for the Jewish people, as well as the great courage, strength and righteousness that occurred. His legacy will live on. 4 The Rabbi, many of whose family perished in the Holocaust, was a symbol of a generation that is rapidly dying out - a generation whose testimony of a relentless, systematic, nationally organized hate and murder machine must not be forgotten. We are at a pivotal point in history and in life of the Holocaust Memorial Center Zekelman Family o Campus. Across the globe, incidents of anti-Semitism, terrorism and hate crimes are increasing and genocide still ccurs. Because of Rabbi Rosenzveig's determination and single-mindedness, thousands of school groups from across our region and many other visitors are able to tour our museum annually, seeing for themselves how unbridled hate can dehumanize and kill. They come away with their eyes opened, determined to treat other people with greater respect. The rabbi taught us that, through lessons learned from the Holocaust, history must go hand-in-hand with morality. We assure you that the Holocaust Memorial Center Zekelman Family Campus will continue to be a viable entity and that its mission is alive. Moving forward, we have a transition team in place, led by interim director, Dr. Guy Stern, with an oversight committee from the Board comprised of past presidents Saul Waldman, Dr. Steven Grant and Alan Zekelman, and current president, Dr. Michael Treblin. Many of you already know Dr. Stern as the capable and scholarly director of our International Institute of the annual embership on the Academic Advisory Committee and on the Center's Board, and his m Righteous, for on his altruism lecture series and righteousness. Dr. Stern also is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of German and former Senior Vice President at Wayne State University. r ecord-breaking xperienced and professional staff in place, outstanding programming and i and will continue to apprise you of new programs and innovations We have a highly e attendance.
