"He taught my sisters and me to be strong, inde- pendent thinkers, and he showed us how helping others helped him to be a more fulfilled person," Julie says. As a member of the Hebrew Free Loan Board, Larry often told Julie how important the agency was. "When he helped give a loan, he knew he was giving someone a chance at a new life. That was his goal." After her dad passed away, Julie became active with HFL, then joined the Board herself. She currently assists agency leaders as a new gen- eration of philanthropists is brought into the fold, helps communicate the HFL message to a fresh audience on social networking sites, and collabo- rates with the Board on issues facing younger families. Julie credits her father's energy as her example. 'rThat has been my driving force," Julie says. Donate to Hebrew Free Loan and give someone a chance at a new life.
