home and they miss them, so they're
happy to help get dreams fulfilled for
other residents now."
The dream beneficiaries will be cho-
sen from the Fleischman Residence, the
Hechtman and Meer Jewish Apartments
and Regent Street in West Bloomfield,
and Heritage of Southfield and the Park
at Trowbridge in Southfield. The JHAS
Foundation will provide $5,000-$8,000
to get the program started, according
to Rosenberg, but donations are being
sought to carry out all of the eventual
dreams.
Ilene Blaz, owner of Legacy Jewelry
in Birmingham, said she will donate 10
percent of all purchases if customers
mention the DreamWeavers project.
Margolick recalls a dream fulfilled
for a blind woman in her late 80s in

Atlanta. "She went on six roller coast-
ers at the Six Flags Over Georgia
Amusement Park and had a fantastic
time," she said.
All local stories and dreams will be
chronicled in a book to be prepared
by volunteers Lindsay Dembs and
Ashley Oleshansky, both of Franklin.
The book will be presented at a
DreamWorkers showcase event at the
end of next year. Helping coordinate
the program for the JHAS Foundation
are Gerry Margolis of West Bloomfield
and Hannah Moss of Huntington
Woods.

Easy Bathroom Access
The Michigan House passed House Bill
5046 to clear the way for it to become
law; Gov. Granholm was expected to
enthusiastically sign it into law.
The law requires establishments
to open employee-only restrooms to
customers who show a statement on a
prescription form indicating they are
pregnant or suffer from Crohn's dis-
ease, ulcerative colitis, another inflam-
matory bowel disease, irritable bowel
syndrome or any medical condition
requiring immediate access to a toilet.
Huntington Woods resident Jill
Sklar, a former Crohn's & Colitis
Foundation of America Michigan
chapter trustee, was instrumental in

working with state Rep. Andy Meisner,
D-Ferndale, in drafting and introduc-
ing the original bill. Meisner, who was
term limited, will become Oakland
County treasurer in July.
Other key advocates of the bill
include state Sen. Gilda Jacobs, D-
Huntington Woods, state Sen. Michael
Bishop, R-Rochester, and Oakland
County Executive L. Brooks Patterson.
