assistance at a panel forum on
Monday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. at the
Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield.

one-on-one confidential opportu-
nities and agency referral infor-
mation will be made available.
This program is provided by the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit's Jewish Assistance Project.

Surgeon On Cancer Panel
St. Joseph Mercy Oakland
announced that Dr. Allen Silbergleit
of Huntington Woods, program
director emeritus, Department
of General Surgery, and chair,
Division of General Surgery, has
been appointed to membership on
the Commission on Cancer of the
American College of Surgeons.
He also is the Cancer Liaison
Physician for the Commission on
Cancer.
Silbergleit will serve a three-
year term. He has been a fellow of
the American College of Surgeons
since 1964.
In 2005, SJMO renamed the
annual Clinic Day program in
honor of Silbergleit, longserving
chair of the Clinic Day committee
and 40-year tenure director of the
Surgery Residency program.
For his accomplishments in gradu-
ate medical education, Silbergleit
was awarded the Parker J. Palmer
Courage to Teach Award of the
Accreditation Council for Graduate
Medical Education.
