n an age where each season heralds a new crop of "in" technology
devices comes Spiritual Artifacts, which offers something very dif-
ferent: a selection of ancient Torah fragments from centuries-old
Torah scrolls.
The scrolls come from Jewish communities as diverse as Morocco, Yemen
and Iraq in North Africa and the Middle East to Persia and pre-Holocaust
Europe.
Jews have been scattered across the globe throughout all of recorded history.
The focal point of every community was the synagogue where Jews would gather
the handwritten scroll that contains the
to pray and read from their Sefer Torah
Hebrew Bible. Many communities were subjected to oppression; today, most of
these communities have disappeared. What remains are fragments of their Torah
scrolls. Each Torah scroll is painstakingly scribed on parchment according to rigor-
ous standards that are thousands of years old.
Today, these Torah fragments stand as a testament to the glory of these commu-
nities and a legacy of their devotion and religious heritage.
