Allison Sheren, program direc- tor at the University of Michigan Hillel, worked with the U-M Alumni Association to achieve official affiliate status for UMAJA. Every month, UMAJA sends out its e-newsletter, E-JewBlue, with informa- tion on events at the university that Jewish alums would want to attend, spotlights interesting alumni and explains how to get involved. The organization hopes to form regional UMAJA groups so that mem- bers can get in contact with other Jewish alumni in their area and receive periodic updates on regional events. Membership is free. Become immersed in the ancient texts of Judaism and communal issues of contemporary significance. The Jewish Theological Seminary offers undergraduate, graduate, cantorial, and rabbinical degrees to prepare religious, academic, educational, and lay leaders for the Jewish community and beyond. JT Hillel of Metro Detroit will soon be reaching out to Jewish students at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. HMD currently serves five Metro Detroit campuses: Wayne State University, Oakland University, Oakland Community College, University of Detroit Mercy and Lawrence Technological University. HMD will be working at UM-D to identify Jewish students and sup- port Jewish student organizations on campus, as well as Jewish educational and Israel cultural programming, and leadership development. A goal of the new relationship between HMD and UM-Dearborn is to promote UM-Dearborn's overall com- mitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
