family musical moves
the 2008 stage schedule
into 2009 for the Jewish
Ensemble Theatre.
Two by Two, a Peter Stone play
with music by Richard Rodgers
and lyrics by Martin Charnin, will
be performed Dec. 9-Jan. 11 at the
Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield.
"This is the story of Noah based
on The Flowering Peach by Clifford
Odets," says Evelyn Orbach, JET artis-
tic director. "I think youngsters in the
upper elementary grades will enjoy it
as much as adults."
The action surrounding the flood
takes a comical turn as Noah's far-
reaching responsibilities mix with the
daily demands of being husband and
father. The production, even with the
funny twists, also was meant to be
inspirational.
